ST225 Cold air induction kits- the past

Postby Karter Performance » Wed Oct 29, 2014 4:22 pm

Afternoon guys

As some of you may know, we had some issues with the ST225 induction kits where the paint started peeling. I am not sure if this is going to do more bad than good for us as a company but I feel it is only right to address it.

We had this issue with the first few batches of induction kits produced back in 2011. Every kit we were made aware of we had sandblasted and re powdercoated at our own cost even if it happened after the warranty period.
Since we started to realise this issue we moved powdercoaters and started having each unit sand blasted before they get coated.

The issue was the oil residue left on the pipe once the pipes were mandrel bent. This oil would cause the powder to not bond correctly with the pipe and eventually peel.

If you have any questions about this we will gladly answer them.

This issue has been resolved a few years back but we have recently re-coated a second hand pipe bought by a forum member who bought the kit from a customer of ours from 2012.

This is just to make you all aware that the issue has been resolved and won't happen again.

Kind regards
Karl

Karter is one of the best companies that i have delt with, i bought the unit second hand off the forum, asked them about repowder coating for me as it was peeling due to the bad batch mentioned above and he offered to do this all at no additional cost to me as he fully stands by his products no matter what and how old they are. .i opted for a different colour then he generally supplies and paid a small fee in which i had no problem in. Always offering advice and updates when needed.
Top company, top products, best after service:lol:

Thanks everyone! It's not often that we have the old kit's being re-coated anymore. I'd say they are pretty much all fixed now. If yours is peeling just contact us and send some pics and we will sort it out as soon as we can.

Shanks, you know us well enough to have had the pipe sorted out in a heartbeat bud... I can't coat your new one for free :-P :-D
