Struggling to get faceplate off

Postby Q-Tex. » Mon Nov 21, 2016 11:11 am

I am struggling my back side off to get the centre cover off to remove the radio.

I know that i should just pull it till it clips off but i have put some excessive pressure on this thing, even went as far to accept that if it breaks ill buy a new one.
yet i still dont get it off.

I did however see that there are slots in the radio that looks like you need keys to remove.
Its the standard pre f/l radio, 6 disc front loader

There were a few pre-facelifts with the oval Sony headunit. For these you remove the surround first to expose 4 torx screws that hold the unit in place.
On the models with the square face, the headunit needs to be removed first, before the surround can come off. You will need suitable radio keys or nail files to remove the unit.
