Ford Focus 2.0 TDCI DPF issues

Postby FocusTDCIRamon » Fri Aug 11, 2017 2:44 pm

Hi All,
i got a dreaded engine malfunction warning on my dash last week and then yesterday the engine light came on.
I dropped it off at my Ford local and they say my DPF, vapouriser and catalytic convertor need replacing.

I have a Ford Focus 2.0 TDCI powershift 2013 model, 149 000kms on the clock.

They want R37500 to do this work  , seems a bit much.

They mentioned another place that will bypass this system and it works out cheaper.

Anyone have any thoughts, is it easy to do my self, replace the parts myself, im sort of a car guy and can play around, so if its not too hard maybe just do it myself.

Is the car still usable like this or will i damage something driving it like this.

thanks you
