ST225 Power Loss Help

Postby Shay_ST3 » Sat Oct 07, 2017 2:30 am

Hi guys, just wondering if you can help me.

I still have my 2015 ST250, but I recently purchased a 2007 ST225 pre-facelift 2 door with 130 000km. Before purchasing the vehicle I test drove it and everything was fine. The previous owner told me he installed a Dastek chip.

I was driving about 140km/h when the vehicle gradually lost power until it eventually stalled. There were a few warning lights on the dash, such as “water in fuel”, “check engine..”, “power steering..”, “ESP system fault”, and there was also a red light flashing on dash flashing in between the rev and speed gauges.

What could be the possibilities? Has anyone else experienced this? Or where can I start checking?

Thanks

Have you checked the battery? Sometimes a flat battery can cause that.

As Gerrie sez. Also check the alternator charging rate.
