Very informative....thank you.with this being said... the safer 1st mod option (with less power) would be to go full intake or bolt on downpipe. Or just use octane booster :)

well for one, what is the outside temperature in the UK at the moment?

190kw with no hardware on 93 oct?

Drfiter, please when you get your finnsport cable can you please put this to the test?...
I would be really interested to see the results...

just a Q for everyone to ponder on...
Fiesta St, Focus St is a huge market in South Africa or any where in the world....
WHY are we not seeing these cars being modded in SA like the previous versions where?

i have seen a Cobb unit in test in Cape Town on a St250..... did not even get close to 10% of its power claimed on South African pump fuel
this COBB unit was imported by our client and he did the testing himself...
he got so irritated that he sold the car... taking delivery of his Mk7 next week...

drifter you are mistaken. i asked what octane they were running on that map and it was 97. not 93. pretty sure UK is 95,97,99

the quality of our fuel is something a lot of guys dont seem to take into account. and the heat of course.
the 190kw drifter is referring is on cars with stage 2 software and full exhausts, intake and cooler. 1.1 bar steady and 1.6 bar on overboost.
i asked finsport myself and they were running 97oct, not 93.

Yes, those are the stage 2 numbers, quite correct. The boost stock from the factory is 21 PSI, not so?

My ST250 did 150wkw stock
Software ,Dp, no OB , 170wkw 452nm

I would think ^ is a decent gain with Software

For one you had a Dp fitted which automatically reduces combustion intake temps because the air is able to get out faster,
the other key point is ... JHB is a heaven for power...
air is less so cars wont ping easily
go to the coast and see what the car does then

Should be stronger at the coast, no? Denser air, better combustion.

Mmm Its a difficult one. Will be interesting to see the results of finsport. I'm hoping for a positive outcome. However if you are going to modify there is a compromise u will have to make sometimes. I.e. drop kit will affect ride quality, adding intake will void warranty. And in this case, it may not be ideal, but maybe software at coast with OB is the compromise to get great gains ? Just a thought. But for now I would prefer a safer map and get some gains without having to add OB all the time. Or maybe switch to an OB map when you do add OB for proper gains lol
