Fiesta Questions Please Help?

Postby *Z3R0* » Tue Oct 03, 2017 8:36 am

Hey gents, so looking at purchasing a Ford Fiesta 2008 Trend 1.4L with 117 000km on the clock.

Please can you give me some info on service parts cost (will service myself), fuel consumption on this 1.4L, any other issues I might have a look at?
Test drove the car and drives great but would just like some input from guys that have owned one before.

If your thoughts are negative, what else will you suggest in the same range as this?

Thanks.

Trying to save the ST170 a bit?
Apparently they are great runabouts. Good on fuel, and can maintain 120 on the highway. Doubt there is anything huge that is wrong with them.

Yes need a daily haha! Was looking at the 1.6 Fiesta Titanium too now.
How are they on fuel gents, can you get roughly 600-700 on a tank?

The 2008 Ford Fiesta 1.4 is basically the same car as the now discontinued old shape Ford Figo. Very good little cars with no real issues , obviously depending on the cars history and how well it was maintained. Servicing and spares are reasonable and readily available at most auto spares shops , eg Midas , Autozone , etc

This would be my choice!
Have a friend with a slightly modded one, no engine mods, and it looks really good!

Yeah I love the look on these, and some nice features too.
This forum is really dead these days, nobody puts in any effort in sharing info, knowledge or anything anymore.

My cousin has recently sold her 1.4 Fiesta after 160k kms and she has never had any real issues. I was also pleasantly suprised at the build quality.... felt way way better than that of my old fezz.
Although for the same price range, I think its hard to beat the older i20

If the engine is exactly the same as the figo. Then besides basic services you will easily get 650km plus on a tank and only need to do oil changes when recommended as it doesn't chow oil.

I have a 2012 figo on 136k and getting that mileage. I got 680km on a tank last week and that's jhb traffic daily.

Besides the seats becoming uncomfortable I can't complain.
