Fiesta ST150 SWR cams for sale/swop

Post by mustaqueem01 » Tue Jul 19, 2016 1:33 pm

Hi there

I have a set of SWR racing cams fitted in my ST150. I want to get the stock cams refitted. Cams can be bought for R2000, alternatively I will consider a fair swop provided you can arrange a reliable mechanic and pay for the labor. I cannot afford standing time on the vehicle. Transplant will have to be done simultaneously. Preferably over the weekend. Cams have 15000km on them

Hey Stu

Im having an irregular idle on the car which Ive been told is due to the cams and timing done done correctly. Would just like the car to run smoothly. I could spare the couple extra kw. Advice?

If they are.. should there be a smooth idle? Someone (I trust) has told me that SWR cams no matter what give that idle and the car keeps hunting. Also my cold start up in the morning dies. Even holding my foot on the pedal at 1 position has a hunt

well I got cossy cams which the gen2 swr cams were a copy of. my cold start it perfect and at first the idle is a little rougher but then it settles and I don't have to play with the throttle at all... once it warms up the idle is perfect can hardly notice I'm running cams at all- does yours die if you don't keep your foot on the throttle ?

Yes it does, mainly due to the up and down hunt. Im considering just taking it in to Thomas to get the timing redone on the current cams. I was told there are other pieces to the puzzle that are needed for cams to work best. Currently there is an exhaust, induction and cams, I removed the uni as I feel it wasnt mapped correctly, it was definitely overfueling to a point where I could smell fuel after I stopped the car, after I removed it the car feels better. Should I get the software done if I choose to keep the cams? And where would you recommend I go?

Thanks

My car was lumpy as hell with swr cams and it pulled hard. It would cut off a lot though with the cams
