My BT Build
So as the topic states - I have started a journey on reinventing the wheel with regards to my ST225 - I am too far now to turn back
I am not looking to build the fastest or most powerful ST225 in SA but rather something different. The car will be built to achieve +- 400 wkw within safety parameters
I will upload pics as and when I get the chance or make progress -
All work will be done by myself from the SRD workshop in Sebenza with the help from Jonathan from SRD , my brother and few other friends in the car industry
in short my build will consist of the following:
Garret GTX 3076R with .63 AR ex Housing
Precision WG
Turbosmart BOV
Custom Forged Connecting Rods
CP Pistons
ARP Head Studs
Battery Relocation to Boot
Elevate intake plenum
Darton Sleeved Block
ST250 Hubs
ST250 Wheel bearings
ST250 CV's and Side shafts
650CC injectors
Custom Single mass flywheel
Custom Sprung Copper clutch
Custom built Lower control arms with 6 deg added castor
2 way adjustable coil overs with a possibility of Camber plate adjustment
Custom Side runner turbo exhaust Manifold ( relocating turbo to top of gearbox )
Custom OFH with Oil Catch Can setup
With the turbo being mounted on top of the gearbox there are many other supporting mods which I will need to do. All fluids will need to run drivers side for safety and protection as per the below
Relocate fuel pipes past drivers side
Relocate heater hoses past drivers side
Install Stainless heat shields on firewall
Install Stainless heat shields around fuse box and harness
Install Stainless heat shields over gearbox mounts and selector cables
Custom Fuel Rails to accommodate fuel supply from drivers side
There are many other odds and ends which need to be done but the list is too long to mention.
Any advice , comments or questions are welcome

Re: My BT Build
Out of curiosity, why go the whole ST250 hubs and shafts route instead of just getting stronger side shafts ? Are there any other benefits ?

the ST 250 bearing has better and stronger properties . the tripod structures on the universal joint is stronger on the 250. by using the 250 hub i get to use the 250 shaft. the bearing has the added bonus of a circlip behind the bearing. the 225 shouldve had the circlip assembly from day 1
in short..
stronger shaft
stronger tripod
circlip assembly for bearing
