My DreamScience K06 Hybrid Turbo Build

Postby Tren » Mon Oct 26, 2015 1:02 pm

So after quite a wait....finally got the resources available to start and finish this build...

Made arrangements with Wayne from Gobey's Auto Centre to do the build for me.

Basically we had to remove the head, shim the block, swap turbo's and put everything back together again...was a lot of work to do...but we did it in a day, to which I am very very thankful to him for accommodating me in that way :D

This man knows his work, and his workmanship and attention to detail is top notch.

I helped where i could, and where i was needed but 95% of the work he did himself.

The turbo i installed is a hybrid DreamScience turbo built by AET and Forge. it has a standard exhaust wheel on it, but has the k16 compressor wheel from the RS turbo.

It has a forge actuator (blue spring) and forge recirc valve. Really is a top quality hybrid turbo.

I havent had much time to drive the car, but i pushed 3rd gear where i could...im driving on pump fuel at the moment...and all i can say is that this car will murder my stock turbo ST with OB1 on its best day...which was last weeks 13.2

Im really happy and excited to see how it performs in the higher gears...just busy monitoring oil and water..but everything seems spot on so far :smt023

Car should make between 360-370hp and 600nm... will be dynoing soon and will post the results :)

Some pics of the build...

Just sanding the part where the shims are to make sure no part of the shim sticks out higher than the block..

shims all in :smt023

found 5 stripped threads in my head...so the guys from swift thread came out to sort that out for me.

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice benTren.

Keen to see some onboard vids!
Now, I admit that there are two distinguishing features that you can use to tell apart the Audi sedans. One is LEDs. The A4 has roughly seven, while the A8 could guide damaged ships to the mainland.
