So having a slight problem.

My mechanic has put my car back together after i had the head polished and the cams cut to 268 deg. It starts fine but then the crank slips.

We have replaced the crankshaft center bolt with a brand new one from ford, thinking it was this but it is still slipping.

Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks Stu

I called my mechanic and told him to check it.

What do those diamond washers do? You don't think that the head work could be affecting the crank position? They get it all setup and then the things goes out of alignment.

So car is back.

It doesnt idle when warm but i recon thats due to the cams and head modifications. It will go for its chip and tune this week. It runs smooth while driving.

Spent the morning fitting the CAI and a new set of front disc pads and brakes, also cleaned up the engine bay and got rid of all the grease marks from mechanics.

Still need to fit my engine mount but i cant get the old one off so i will take it to a shop to remove.

H&R springs installed. The ride quality is excellent, it feels just as comfortable as stock.

I forgot to update this thread.

The car went to KSD where it was chip and tuned.

The car is running a 268 deg cam, full free flow exhaust, Unichip, K&N filter and polished head.

The results were 87kw and 149nm. The car drives really lekker, especially with the H&R springs and lower engine mount. From 1st to 2nd the wheels give a lekker chirp (thats with 205 wide wheels). It also sits in traffic everyday for 2 hours and has no problem.

I took the induction kit off as i dont like the noise it makes, instead i am running a flat panel K&N filter. If anybody wants to buy the old one let me know. I will sell it for cheap - R400? Thats the pipe, filter and silicon ends.

I am now looking at getting my exterior sorted and then the interior steam cleaned, the mechanics really made a mess inside. Then its Powerkote brakes and i want a SWR CAM to really increase the power :D
