V50 T5 Project - in need of help please

Post by Mia225 » Tue Dec 04, 2018 11:07 am

Hey all,

Recently started off with a V50 T5 project. Has an auto gearbox which required work and the motor blew a head gasket.
Gearbox has been sorted and head gasket replaced with will the necessary nitty gritty here and there fixes that were required. Car started and was fine, but seems to be mixing oil and water.

Not sure where the issue might lie and after doing some research most "online gurus" point it to the direction of the oil cooler within the radiator being at fault ?
before i pursue it and go through the trouble - can anyone confirm how true this can be ?

Also, anybody that knows of a 2nd hand ST motor that might be less hassle to deal with please point me in the right direction ?

Thanks

oil cooler within the radiator ......

Oil cooler is not in the radiater its at the back of the engine bolted to the sump.
Was the cylinder head skimmed ?
Torqued up the right way?
