Kuga check engine light, noise when pressing brake pedal.

Postby Fordforever » Wed Mar 14, 2018 8:05 am

Hi guys.
This past Monday my 2012 Kuga 2.5T's check engine light came on. It still drives normally and did not enter limp mode. I realized that my steering fluid bottle was empty after I tried fault-finding. I filled it, but the light stays on, so it was not that.
This morning I noticed a new sound, coming out of my dashboard, from behind the radio it seems. Its a clicking sound whenever I press the brake pedal. The car was idling and in park mode.
Is this clicking sound when I press the brake pedal a fault, and perhaps related to the engine check light that stays on?

I also want to add that the brake power is well below normal strength for the first 30 seconds after starting the car in the mornings. As if it first needs to built up pressure. Then while driving, it feels 100% normal.

What could it be? Thanks.
