seatbelt chime

Postby Chris18 » Wed Feb 17, 2016 2:23 pm

Hi All

Does anyone know the correct step by step process to shut off that irritating seatbelt chime? Mine starts sounding when the car reaches 20km/ph and above. Checked a few websites - one says buckle/unbuckle 3 times, another says 4, yet another says 9 times. One also mentions turning the lights on/off during the procedure etc etc. gets a bit confusing. Anyone tried and succeeded maybe?

If you're driving your car long enough that the chime annoys you, it's probably best to put on your seatbelt.
Here's the guide from focusst.org
First, have the Parking Break on and don't have your seatbelt on
2) Hit "Start" button without holding in clutch
3) After about 1 minute the Seat Belt Light will go off
4) ... after it goes out, and within the next 60 seconds, buckle and unbuckle the seat belt four times, ending with it unbuckled
5) the Seat Belt Light will then come back on and you buckle and unbuckle the seat belt one time only
6) the Seat Belt Light will blink three times to confirm you did it right
Congrats - now you can live dangerously too
This also works on passenger side, and you can REPEAT LATER TO RE-ENABLE THE ALARM

Thanks for the help - tried it and worked perfectly.
Yes, safety comes first, no arguments there - I will continue to buckle up, just don`t need a pesky alarm to tell me to do so! :D
