Over rev when changing to second

Postby Shaunp » Fri Jun 24, 2016 6:03 pm

Hi ST guys. Hope all is well. I have a figo runabout. When I change to second gear she over revs. While in first I leave the accelerator press the clutch and the revs start to climb to 3k. If I shift at 1.5 k or 3 k it doesn't do the over rev. I read that newer cars over rev to keep the cat warm. The car is still new.

Its to protect the gearbox, but sounds like yours is overdoing it.

Let the agents check it out. It is supposed to increase RPM a little surely not 1500 to 3000 RPM.
