Help Needed

Post by Legin » Mon Sep 03, 2018 12:55 pm

Hi Guys

I am currently rebuilding a N/A Ford Escort 1999 which was originally a 1.6 ZETEC and was swapped for a 2.0 Mondeo 2.0 ZETEC.

The problem I have is when i start the car the car will start, idle, rev throughout the rev range etc. Problem is when i drive it it stalls like there is a lack of petrol. Funny thing is when it stalls during the drive I would switch it off and on again it will go away till i gear down to low speeds or have come to a stop etc. I have replaced the MAF already also checked for leaks on the intake as well, had the injectors cleaned, a new fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator.

Any help will be appreciated?

thanks

Earth is fine, would the relay then not effect it when holding rev ranges as well?? It doesn't have any issues through the entire rev range only when i start driving it nose dives.

Don't think the standard management is equiped to upgrade the increase from 1.6 to 2.0.
I know Wayne used a specific Mondeo ECU for his conversion.

Been a long time since I was on this forum :D

Also still have the car, couldn't get it over my heart to sell it.

Yeah, when I started I used the normal 1.6 ECU, I then imported a Mondeo's ECU without PATS from EU then with the extra stuff I did a had a unichip fitted.

One day when I'm big, I'll fit a haltech.
