Lowering of a Ford Ka

Postby Tbird » Tue Feb 06, 2018 9:22 am

Hi guys,

So the Ford Ka is not a popular car to mod in SA, is anyone aware of an alternative car that uses the same suspension setup (shocks and springs) as the Ford Ka.

I can import the parts but the cost involved is just not worth it.

My other option is getting a set of springs compressed but then I need to first get a set of standard springs to have compressed.

Thanks guys

Places like Van Zyl's Spring works can make up a new set of springs for you.
Take the standard ones to them, tell them you want a 30mm drop, and they make the springs thicker and stiffer.
Then you still have the stock units if you desire.

That is an option but the car is a daily so I unfortunately cant take them all out to have new ones made up and then sit without a car for a few days. But thanks for the advice, maybe in winter when its not raining all the time I can do that and then ride bike to work and back.
