17 inch is good for 1.6 if you had the 1.3 then 15

I'm enjoying my 17". The additional width on the tyre assists a lot with brakes not locking up

The Rocam Bantam does not like 17" wheels, you have a fair amount of power loss, I did this before.
but... it does look hot... and I would do it again as a Bantam is not a race/performance car ;)

Power loss is not really felt with the Turbo :D

Going to put 2014 Fiesta ST mags on!! Because the 14" wheel is [email protected] with the 1.6 a lot of wheel spin and the breaking is bad wheels lock all the time :(

Will a 16 inch on a 1.3 really decrease the power?

I have 16inch Fondmetals on my Bantam. Tyre size is 195/50 and i think the reason my stock bantam seems to lose power when going up hills are because of the tyre size. i have the 1.6i. Still needs some advice how to improve the rocam power output.

Glad to see you here, the easiest way to increase power I would think would be turbo route. The turbo from a 2.5 Mazda B2500 TD apparently works well. That's what Ryno Smit had on his 1.6 Ford Ka. 60 km/h in 2nd gear floor it & it left plenty rubber on the tar. That thing is insane.

Thanks MrMazda. Are Ryno still using his standard engine with stock internals or did he go all out. I just need a list of what is needed and then needs to find a reputable tuner to install everything.

I think it was forged internals, but I have not spoken to him for awhile. He was WS manager at Vereeniging Ford & later @ Imperial Ford Germiston. Howeevr I don;t hink its necessary to go as crazy as he did with his Ka.

Nice looking bakkie. Did you not want to sell the Fondmetal's?
Think I saw it on Facebook somewhere? With the different part number for the "other" caps?
