how to check inner front pads
Hi All
I was forced to change my front brake pads AND discs (after ONLY 35000km!!!!) at a rip-off cost from Ford.
I'm trying to keep an eye on things myself, but find it impossible to check how much material is still remaining on my front inner brake pads - how can I do this? I ask because it seems that there is only about 3mm left on my outers, and it was the inners which wore down the quickest last time....
Thank very much.

Hi Stu
Thanks for your reply.
I have taken the wheels off, but the caliper, backing plate, etc is all in the way.....so can't see a thing. So it seems I have to remove the pads, then, to check it out properly...???
Thanks.

Hi PregST
Sorry, I was not at all aware of you asking the question..???
Total cost of job was R5900....the branch that I bought the car from (Tygervalley), originally quoted about R10200!!! I got back to them after having my brakes done by Kuils River, and Tygervalley told me they "made a mistake in their quote", then re-quoted me JUUUUST under Kuils River's job. I HATE car dealerships to the max!!!!
I now monitor pads and discs myself, and replace myself, too....and have done so in the past couple of months....
